Hi Eric!

I haven't made the switch to 1.17 (I'm still at 1.16) but there should be a MediaWiki:Commons.css in 1.17 as well. It's a page, not a file. You can see mine here: http://www.thepetwiki.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Common.css. Just type in MediaWiki:Common.css at the end of your url, and create the page. That should do it. Same thing should work for MediaWiki:Common,js. There's more info about the it in the MediaWiki users manual http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:CSS.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,
Rena

I think they may have changed things a bit. What version of mediawiki are you using. I am on 1.17 and there is no longer a

common.css file

nor a
Common.js file:

I wonder if they are called something else in newer versions?

Hi Cindy!

I'm so glad you like The Pet Wiki. It's been a labor of love.

You're not missing anything. Skins don't have .js files. What kind of navigation are you trying to add? I'll be happy to help you if I can.

Best,
Rena

Hi

A really informative article and I loved the pet wiki ...

Recently ventured into creating a wiki with MediaWiki and wanted to add some navigation ... hence came across your article ...

My host (siteground) ... I cannot find the .js files in any of the skins ... Am I missing something?

Thanks
